Meghan Chase

HAS A SECRET DESTINY- ONE SHE COULD NEVER HAVE IMAGINED

Something has always felt slightly off in Meghan's life, ever since her father disappeared before her eyes when she was six. She had never quite in at school...or at home.
When a dark stranger begins watching her from afar, and her prankster best friend friend becomes strangely protective of her, Meghan sense that everything she's known is about to change.

But she could never have guessed the truth-that she is the daughter of the mythical faery king and is a pawn in a deadly war. Now Meghan will learn just how far she'll go to save someone she cares about, to stop a mysterious evil no faery creature dare face...and to find love with a young prince who might want her dead.

I think I was extremely lucky to borrow both the Iron King and the Iron Daughter at the same time. The second book in the series, I will review in another post. First off, I absolutely loved it. I have read many faery books, Wicked Lovely, Tithe, Valiant and a short of satisfying list after those three which I can't recall right now. Julie Kagawa really know how to capture a reader's interest. I found the beginning a bit similar to Carrie Jones's Need. I'm not saying they are the same, but the feeling is sorta similar. When the book first came out, i saw a bunch of blogs with a review on it and even picking Team Puck or Team Ash. I didn't understand until I finally picked up the book. And I just love Ash. Team Ash all the way, not that I don't love Puck though.

The book was many things, gripping, suspenseful and just downright captivating. I liked all the characters mentioned and the faery creatures and the faery world. I think Julie Kagawa really got it all down in her book. Meghan was a good heroine. She could be weak and needing of support at times, but she can be strong and daring at others. I really liked her character. I always enjoy reading books about faeries because after a while all the books come together in my mind and kind of really piece together for me what the faery world is like. And who agrees with me when I say the Iron King's cover is totally delicious to look at.

I'm not going to give anything away to ruin the book for those who haven't read it but this book deserves an overall 9.5/10. I adored it and if I ever get a chance to own my own copies of the series, I'm taking it.
This is a MUST read. You really need to go out and get this book like right away.
