Book Review: MockingJay by Suzanne Collins Review

Author:Suzanne Collins

Series: The Hunger Games #3

How Obtained:Borrowed from school library

"My name is Katniss Everdeen. Why am I not dead? I should be dead."

Katniss Everdeen, girl on fire, has survived, even though her home has been destroyed. Gale has escaped. Katniss's family is safe. Peeta has been captured by the Capitol. District 13 really does exist. There are rebels. There are new leaders. A revolution is unfolding.

It is by design that Katniss was rescued from the arena in the cruel and haunting Quarter Quell, and it is by design that she has long been part of the revolution without knowing it. District 13 has come out of the shadows and is plotting to overthrow the Capitol. Everyone, it seems, has had a hand in the carefully laid plans -- except Katniss.

The success of the rebellion hinges on Katniss's willingness to be a pawn, to accept responsibility for countless lives, and to change the course of the future of Panem. To do this, she must put aside her feelings of anger and distrust. She must become the rebels' Mockingjay -- no matter what the personal cost.

(Well I have been away for the whole summer :3 and i haven't been keeping with my reading and I feel so bad. So when i got back, I read a few books already. Probably nothing that just recently came out except mockingjay. I know it came out for a while already but I really needed to write a review)

Believe me when I say I loved the Hunger Games. I don't know what got me first. The idea of the hunger games or the future society of Panem thing. Getting through all three books The Hunger Games, Catching Fire, and Mockingjay was easy for me. I was so sad when I found out Mockingjay was going to be the last book in the series, but all good things must come to end an end, even if you don't want it to. Anyway, enough of my babbling. Mockingjay certainly tied together the plot and ended it nicely but when reading it, there were some part that just made me grimace. I'm not going to mention any, so I don't ruin it for those who haven't read it. Katniss is one of my favorite characters, she has a fire that noone else possesses and her determination to do things really moved me.

I liked how it ended, with the happy ending an all, but Mockingjay lacked some of the fire that was in the other two books. If you read the first two books in the series, you seriously can't miss out on Mockingjay, though. The last book brought on many feelings. Anger, Sadness, Surprise and more.  It was more emotional than the other two and always going to be worth the read. :]

I rate this book a 8.5/10. <3 Loved the series and can't believe it ended. Everyone needs to pick up The Hunger Games to read, because it's worth it ;]
